What Area C costs, and how long you have to pay
The ordinary ticket costs €7.50 and covers the whole day you drive in: it must be paid by midnight the following day. From the second to the seventh day only the late ticket is left, at €22.50. After the seventh day payment is no longer possible.

Before you pay
Plenty of entries need no ticket at all: weekends, holidays, outside the charging hours, or an exempt vehicle. Check before you pay.

When Area C is active
Area C runs Monday to Friday, from 7:30 to 19:30. On Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays entry is free, as it is during any suspension announced by the City of Milan.

Weekends, August, long weekends and exemptions: Area C hours, holidays and weekends.
Who does not pay
Electric vehicles, mopeds and motorbikes, emergency vehicles and the police pay nothing, and neither do vehicles with a waiver or exemption granted by the City: residents within their limits, and some categories of hybrids and of disabled drivers.
Lorries between 8 and 10 metres may only enter in the dedicated windows the City sets for goods vehicles. The calculator flags this as soon as you pick that category.
Where Area C is
Area C matches the Cerchia dei Bastioni: 8.2 km² in the centre of Milan, with 43 camera-monitored gates. The ticket covers driving in, not parking inside.
