How much does the L'Aquila day Citypass cost?

The Comune issues the Citypass free of charge: you only pay the stamp duty, with the pagoPA payment notice that arrives during the process. With Parkito you pay the stamp duty plus a €2.50 service fee, and the same price applies from 1 to 5 days.

For what reasons does the Comune issue it?

The regulations cite, as examples, events and religious ceremonies, house moves or loading and unloading heavy or bulky items, transporting people with documented walking difficulties and setting up authorised events. The Polizia Municipale may also consider other documented needs. At checkout we ask for the reason: we pass it on to the Comune exactly as you write it.

Is the permit guaranteed?

No. The Citypass G is issued by the Polizia Municipale case by case, in the number and on the conditions it deems appropriate, and may be refused. Permits are subject to checks.

How far in advance do I need to request it?

The Comune asks for reasonable notice, because every request goes through a review. We ask you to pay at least 7 days before the first day of access.

Do I need to display anything on the car?

Yes. The Citypass comes as a PDF: we send it to you by email, and it must be printed and displayed at the front of the vehicle, clearly visible. If it is not displayed, or cannot be read, the fine is the same as for entering without a permit.

What documents are needed?

The Comune asks for the driver's licence, the vehicle registration document and an ID document. We ask you for them after payment and attach them to the request.

When the L'Aquila ZTL is active and what the permit covers

Hours

To enter the ZTLs and pedestrian areas of the historic centre you need the Citypass displayed on the vehicle. The day pass G is valid on the days and at the times written on the permit.

What it covers

The Citypass is valid only for the ZTL or pedestrian area shown on the permit, with the conditions written on it. That's why we ask for the street you need to reach.

Who doesn't pay

Vehicles that enter without a Citypass include, among others, those with a disabled badge, taxis and private hire vehicles (NCC) on duty and public transport. Hotels receive Citypasses without a plate to lend to their guests.

The fine

Driving without a Citypass, or without displaying it correctly at the front of the vehicle, costs €83 to €332 (Italian Highway Code, art. 7), 30% less if paid within 5 days.
